The CommunityPoint Web Site is a solution for providing public access to community social service resources, such as agency, program, and services information, volunteer opportunities, and area news. Through its progressive design, CommunityPoint enables community coalitions to quickly and easily publish information, all without the burden and expense of developing and deploying a complex technical program.

CommunityPoint can integrate different information systems throughout a community, warehouse the data, and publish it as a web site on the Internet for consumers, state agencies and service providers. In essence, CommunityPoint brings together data from a variety of sources and publishes it as an easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain resource web site.

Agency and program information usually exists in disparate systems throughout a community. For example, a state agency might maintain a database of its programs in an internal database, while a non-profit Information and Referral agency may maintain its data on a local web site.

While regional and state agency efforts serve local needs, the lack of an aggregate source poses problems. If a consumer who lives in one city is interested in aging services for their parents in another, it can be extremely difficult to locate that resource information. Likewise, if a case manager for the state is making a referral for a client outside their agency/service area, it is often cumbersome and time-consuming to do so. CommunityPoint solves this problem.

Flexible in many ways, including its appearance, CommunityPoint has a standard set of templates from which to choose, or agencies can opt to have the product customized to fit a specified color scheme and layout. Customization services are available through Bowman at an additional charge.
